Diversity and inclusion are important business priorities, even more so with the increasing levels of scrutiny that Silicon Valley has received in recent years. Last June, technology industry leaders met with the California State Legislature, vowing to renew their commitment to find diverse technical talent at all levels, from company boards to specialized technical roles. And more companies will begin embracing diversity as a strategic imperative necessary to remain competitive: Studies show that companies with racial and ethnic diversity, as well as better female representation in leadership, achieve higher revenue, more profitability, and higher market values. But this is not a one-and-done initiative, and business leaders who champion inclusivity will need to make this their personal mission, developing a leadership lens that will help them recognize and challenge unconscious bias while adopting consciously inclusive behaviors and actions.

Join Prospanica Silicon Valley for an Inclusive Leadership webinar on Wednesday, 9/6 at 11am PDT / 2pm EDT as you learn to identify and interrupt biases, which is a skill vital to leadership success. This workshop will be led by Victoria Mattingly, PhD, from Development Dimensions International (DDI), a global human capital consulting firm. By the end of the session, you will be able to:

  • Recognize ways in which unconscious bias affects decision-making
  • Develop or modify behaviors to reduce unconscious biases
  • Challenge your own biases and behaviors to grow your leadership IQ
  • Cultivate more inclusive cultures in your organization

The most important role for a leader is to set the tone for their organization’s culture by demonstrating a commitment to inclusion, empowering their peers to contribute to the team’s success as their authentic selves– where all who come with the professional skills sufficient to perform the requirements of the job feel welcome, supported, and rewarded, and are inspired to succeed based on their ability. We hope you will take the time to participate in this inspiring professional development workshop!
